Shirley Groce is a native of Talladega, Alabama. She is one of five siblings born to the late George Jr. and Lucille Carter.

She was educated in the Talladega County public schools, graduating from Talladega County High. She received a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resources Management and Development, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. She completed one year of International Seminary from Plymouth, Florida in 2004. Most importantly, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior in October 1983, and received a BA Degree (Born Again Degree) while in the wilderness in Rheinburg Germany. With assistance from anointed people in the body of Christ, she grew in her relationship with the Lord. Shirley received her license in the ministry on August 22, 2004 at Mt Nebo, Baptist Church, Eastover, South Carolina, where Sammy L. Wade is Pastor. She has been employed with the Federal Government for 29 years.

Since Shirley accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, she has served in ministry in various capacities and has a passion for teaching people how to apply the Word of God in their everyday lives. She also enjoys preaching the word of God. For over 28 years, she served faithfully at Military Chapels.

Shirley has a heart for repairing broken relationships. Empowered by God’s love, the word, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, she ministered to married couples throughout the state of South Carolina.

Shirley is happily married to the most wonderful, God fearing, and loving man, Deacon Elvis Groce. They have three daughters, Latongia Pepper, Shavada Lee, and Dr. Tywana Groce, two son-in-laws, Marcus Pepper and Darrell Lee, two Grandsons, Christopher Groce and Darrell Lee Jr., four Granddaughters, Courtney and Cassidy Lee, Caitlyn and Camille Pepper.

Shirley’s favorite scripture is Psalm 34:1 “I Will Bless the Lord At All Times: His Praise Shall Continually Be in My Mouth”. If you remember nothing else about her, remember only what she does for Christ will last.
