I was born in Atlanta GA in 1956 and grew up there. My family attended First Baptist Church of College Park. This is where I would get my Biblical background. We stopped attending church when I was about 8 due to a conflict in the church. I can look back now at this time and clearly see the calling of God on my life.
After high school I attended Clayton Junior College for two years. In 1979 I went to work for Piedmont Airlines in Atlanta. In 1985 I transferred to Columbia. I can look back now and clearly see the hand of God in this move. In 1990, after years of God tugging at my heart I started visiting churches. One Sunday I went to Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce and as I stepped in the door the Holy Spirit about knocked my over and I knew I was at home. I joined the next week. About a month later I was baptized. It was at that time that the hole inside of me that I had tried to fill with the things of the world was finally filled. In 1991 I took and also lead a course called “Experiencing God” and for the first time in my life I understood what being a follower of Jesus was all about. God began to speak to me and I could hear His voice. In 1995 I was invited to join a group of men who were mostly pastors downtown that were forming a Promise Keepers task force. God turned that into a prayer group. We began to pray that God would bring revival to the midlands region of South Carolina. At the same time I was asked to become a Promise Keeper Key man in my church. Later that year Promise Keepers asked me to be an Ambassador for the midlands region and also serve at conferences. In 1996 the task force partnered with Tony Evans and we formed a ministry called City Light. We had Tony in Columbia several times and that lead to a three day crusade at Williams Brice Stadium for a city wide revival in 1997. In that same time period Promise Keepers asked me to become a State Representative. In 1998 I was the event manager for the Promise Keepers conference at Williams Brice Stadium. In 1999 I was asked to be the event manager for Easter Sunrise 2000 at Williams Brice Stadium. Over 30,000 people accepted Christ at those three events. Since 2000 I have served in many ministries throughout the midlands region. I have served as the Coordinator for the National Day of Prayer in the midlands region for the last four years.
